What is 3D Laser Plasma Art?

3D Laser Plasma Art is a redesign of an older laser system with outdated technologies. The main goals of the new system is to be modernized, smaller in size, versatile, and safe during operation. The system is connected to a computer associated with an electronics subsystem to move 3 stepper motors in the XYZ vector positions corresponding to the rendered 3D image. With the correct motor movements generated by the software and communicated with the microcontroller controlling the motors, the laser pulses into the glass to create a beautiful 3D image inside the glass.

The Problem

The older system was bulky, took up a lot of room, and was extremely slow. It would take hours to create a simple image. Also, the software in use was slow and often required external programs for certain processes.

The Solution

Our solution was to have a complete redesign of the older system. The software created provides all the tools necessary to create any 2D or 3D image into the glass. The electrical system has been modernized and the optical system is simplified.
