Dr. Kimia Zamiri Azar is (starting Fall 2024) an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF). She completed her Ph.D. in the Department of ECE at George Mason University (GMU) in 2021, and subsequently pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Florida (UF) within the Department of ECE.
Dr. Azar’s research focuses on hardware security, specifically on system-level and platform-level verification and validation, VLSI design-for-trust, and advanced IC testing and monitoring. She has authored two books, a book chapter, and holds three issued/pending patents. Her work has been extensively published in ACM/IEEE journals and conferences, including IEEE D&T, IEEE TC, IEEE TIFS, CHES, RAID, DAC, DATE, and ICCAD. Her research has been sponsored by NSF, SRC, DARPA, AFRL, DoD (NG), and Microsemi.
Throughout her career, Dr. Azar has received several awards and nominations, notably Best Paper Awards at ICCAD’19, ISVLSI’20, ICCAD’20, IEEE DCAS’20, HOST’22, and DATE’23. She is an active member of IEEE and ACM.
