Object Detection Drone
Group Three
Sponsor: UCF ECE Department
Project Description
The purpose of this project was to design a remote-controlled drone prototype with the capability
to implement image recongnition using multiple training models to determine the specific
object being displayed on the drone's camera module. Also, LiDAR is implemented in such
a way that the drone can detect the presence of objects within a specified distance and show
indication using an LED as a warning that the drone is approaching an object. With future work,
this prototpe can have fully-autonomous functionality in terms of navigation and can be used
as a search and rescue drone due to its object recongnition and integration with mission planning.
