Project Discription and Motivation
The smart table will not only be used for decoration, but also to provide a multifaceted entertainment and information system that is able to be controlled from a single device and screen. This is composed of multiple interconnected devices embedded into a coffee size table. The smart table can also be set up in an office environment or professional scenario for presentations and or meetings. The table will have an HDMI port and provide the user with an audio system, a USB type 3 charging station, a projector that can be aimed at the wall or projector screen, a fingerprint secured lockbox as well as dynamic LED lighting, controlled via phone app. Our group was motivated to bring people together in a safe way during these extremely tough times and it is very important to have a seamless and easy entertainment system to de-stress, or even a stress-free option for meetings, presentations, or professional environments. With the table being such an integral component in almost every household as well as a central piece in most every office, the idea to improve the functionality of this showpiece is slowly coming to the limelight as people switch to a more remote way of living from day to day. This table is a step forward into the modern world providing an all-in-one self-contained projection system with the interconnectivity modern society has come to love and expect while also providing a unique product that combines style as well as functionality.
