Solar Powered Water Filtration System

Project Description:

The goal of our project is to make a difference in people’s lives by providing a portable, easy to use solar powered water filtration system. Conceived and developed thoroughly so adults and children can easily use it, the system is lightweight, portable, and the user also has the option to remove or fold the solar panels. We incorporated an application that allows any users with a smartphone to have access to the following data: the pH, turbidity, and the water flow. Whether or not the user has the ability to access to a smartphone, we also included an LCD display that shows the sensors readings. By doing so, the application has the ability to display how much water has been used and filtered, if a problem is detected, and the longevity of the filters being used. After months of research and testing, the ultimate goal is to save as many lives as possible and to reduce the number of deaths associated with water related diseases that affects millions of people around the world.

Cecile MD. Bui is a senior
at the University of Central
Florida.She will graduate in
May 2020 with her degree in
Computer Engineering. She is
a member of Phi Theta Kappa
Honor Society, as well as a
member of the National Society
of Leadership and Success. She
has an interest in AI and machine
learning.

Jose Alejandro Gonzalez Nunez
is a senior at the
University of Central
Florida and will receive
his Bachelor of Science
in Computer Engineering in
May 2020. He hopes to work
as a Software Developer for
a big company such Microsoft,
Sony or Amazon.

area of Cyber Security
working for a company
such as Amazon or Google.

Henok Brhane is a senior at the
University of Central Florida
and will receive his Bachelor
of Science in Electrical
Engineering in May 2020.
Currently he is interning with
the Florida Municipal Power
Agency (FMPA). He is interested
in power delivery and sustainable
energy.
