The Emergency Vehicle Detection system is designed to interface with a preexisiting audio system, that provides an automobile driver with advanced warning of an oncoming emergency vehicle. It uses and array of microphones integrated onto the vehicle to extrapolate the continuous data stream from microphones. The system was designed in order to reduce that crashes that occur from distracted drivers with emergency vehicles. With todays powerful stereos and sound proofing inside the vehicle drivers today are more susceptible to be unaware to the oncoming emergency vehicle. This system alerts the driver both visually and audibly to alert the driver to the oncoming vehicle, as well as the direction of the oncoming vehicle.
