The Wander Watch for this Senior Design project is a watch that communicates with a Hub and Android app in order to help keep track of the wearer of the watch. The watch communicates with the Hub to show that the watch is within the designated area. If the bearer of the watch leaves the area, the Hub communicates with the Android app to alert the user. The user can then check the app to see the watch-wearer’s location via GPS. Using this information, they can contact the right people in order to return the wearer of the watch to their home. This project was original meant to be used for older patients with dementia, who may wander from their homes. However, it is hoped that the watch can be used to also keep track of children, and expanded upon for other uses. It is also hoped that this project will provide an affordable option to keeping track of loved ones.
