Industry involvement is essential to the success of the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science's (EECS) educational and research mission. Strong industrial support ensures that EECS' research and educational efforts address the needs and challenges of the industry, while supporting and enhancing our infrastructure, students, curriculum, and research.
Our faculty members are working professionals with advanced degrees who are dedicated to expanding their own knowledge and sharing what they've practiced for years with our students. They combine academic theory with real-life industry knowledge for a quality learning experience.
UCF and Siemens unveiled a new collaboration around smart infrastructure. In addition to the existing Siemens' Digital Grid Lab, the newly expanded partnership establishes the Smart Infrastructure Data Analytics Lab in ECE. Software and hardware installed in the lab aims at improving the performance and efficiency of buildings and the energy grid by harnessing the power of data.
